*Born in Bila Riba, São Filipe, Island of Fogo, Cabo Verde in 1958.
*At the age of six moved with family to the capital city of Praia, Island of Santiago .
* Spent the next eleven years in Praia.
* Began elementary education in the old School Luis de Camões- Skola Grandi.
* Went to Liceu Adriano Moreira, today Liceu Domingos Ramos.
* In 1976, at the age of 18, immigrated to the United States.
* In Boston, frequented Cardinal Cushing Center, Chamberlayne Junior College, University of Massachusetts and Lesley University.
* Became a teacher of English as a Second Language and English Language Arts in 1983.
* Worked as a teacher at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School from 1983 until June of 2020.
* Madison Park Girls Soccer Coach from 1989 to 2017.
* Some of Adelina's poems written in Portuguese and Cabo Verdean Creole were published in the early 80s in the Cabo Verdean Magazine, Arquipelago, published in Boston by the Cabo Verdean writer Teobaldo Virginio De Melo.
*Two of Adelina's poems were translated from Portuguese to English by two American writers Gerald Moses and Don Burness.
* Self- published Echoes of the Tides, her first book of poetry written in English in 2008.
* Echoes of the Tides was re-published in March of 2021 by Readers Magnet, LLC.
